lying in bed just like brain wilson dead. i don't know what shitty band did that number, but i do know that for a while it ruined brian wilson's reputation for me. i would lie in bed almost every morning, in my conscious, let lives between my sleep and my wake, and i would think that i was just like brian wilson, even though i had no idea who brian wilson was. i like the beach boys alot, who can mistake hits like i get around, wendy, and Barbra anne before you worry your little head, the answer is no one, no one can mistake hits like that, but don't worry baby you can still appreciate the falsetto, and you can still, like a beach bum, appreciate the Hawaiian theme. i have heard alot about his struggles with his self proclaimed masterpiece "smile". i have heard that he was never satisfied with the album, and the demos that he was doing in the sixties, but all of this confuses me, i have heard his 2004 Smile release, and yes it's been 6 years, but i am still trying to get into it. it does not have the same pluck as his sixties versions of the songs. it most certainly does not use the same recording equipment as that effortless Pet Sounds release, and it seems to fall short in its pieces. this is of course no reason to fret, though, because there was a brian wilson in the sixties, and yes, he was shit then. i have heard that when he was trying to work on smile in the sixties that his dad would abuse him. brain wilson still some how prevailed, and in addition to some classic surf rock, he was responsible for Pet Sounds, as well as Sunflower, and Smiley Smile. Smiley smile is what brings us here today. i don't understand brian wilson's lack of satisfaction in this record. this hands down holds the best versions of "Heroes and Villians", "Vegetables" not to mention "good vibrations" and "with me tonight". i see no point in the resurrection of smile at the turn of the century, big guy, you already nailed it.
